As a large, symphonic chorus, the Larimer Chorale is dedicated to performing choral masterworks with orchestra. However, the pandemic has given us the opportunity to create new and different singing opportunities for our membership. Since the middle of March, members of the Chorale have been rehearsing music of a variety of styles, in small a cappella groups. Our final concert of the 20-21 season - aptly titled “A Cappella” - will be released on our YouTube channel on Tuesday, May 18 at 7:30 pm. Our a cappella groups have been formed with members’ musical interests at heart so audiences will hear Renaissance madrigals, Romantic partsongs, serious 21st century choral compositions and lighter pop music. The a cappella groups have been coached by Trever Bonnema, Caroline Owens, Chorale Assistant Conductor Jean Johnson and Chorale Conductor Michael Todd Krueger. Don’t miss this lighthearted evening of a cappella vocal music coming from the mouths behind the masks!
