Larimer Chorale Open Air Singers
Bridge Over Troubled Water
Very Limited Seating! Tickets are $10 and can be purchased through the Lyric's website or at the door.
Normally accustomed to performing choral masterworks by Mozart, Beethoven and Rachmaninoff, the 120 members of the Larimer Chorale have reimagined themselves in different types of ensembles this year. While about 80 members of the choir have chosen to stay at home and rehearse and prepare pieces virtually, approximately 40 members of the Chorale have chosen to pursue singing in-person, outdoors with masks and social distancing. The Chorale is calling them the Open Air Singers [OAS].
OAS will perform a live concert at the Lyric Cinema on Tuesday, October 13 at 6 pm titled “Bridge Over Troubled Water.” The concert will feature music from the Chorale’s concerts that had to be canceled due to the pandemic along with lighter selections from Broadway and pop music. Soloists and small ensembles will also be featured. Repertoire will include Queen's “You’re My Best Friend,” “Always Look on the Bright Side of Life” from Monty Python’s Spamalot and Simon & Garfunkel’s “Bridge Over Troubled Water.”
OAS will perform without sound reinforcement but the acoustics of the outdoor stage at The Lyric Cinema will provide an excellent place for enjoyable concert-going.
